Half of the fruit&nbsp;I eat as is&nbsp;and the remaining half I bottle to use in other desserts like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kawalingpinoy.com\/ginataang-bilo-bilo\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ginataang bilo-bilo<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kawalingpinoy.com\/banana-turon\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">banana turon<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kawalingpinoy.com\/halo-halo\/\">halo-halo<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although bottled sweetened jackfruit is readily available at most Asian grocery stores or online, there's nothing like homemade in my opinion. You can use frozen if fresh is unavailable; thaw and drain well.<\/li><li><strong>Sugar<\/strong>- use granulated white sugar. Coat knife and chopping board with oil for easy clean-up. Coat your hands with oil or wear gloves to protect from the sticky substance.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-prepare-jackfruit\">How to prepare jackfruit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list is-layout-flow wp-block-list-is-layout-flow\"><li>Cover work area with plastic wrap. Wear latex gloves and coat the knife with oil.<\/li><li>Cut the langka lengthwise in quarters.<\/li><li>Remove the tough, white core in the center of the jackfruit and discard.<\/li><li>Bend the fruit pods to loosen from the fibrous flesh and pull them out. Remove any fibrous pulp that clings to each pod and discard.<\/li><li> Make an incision at the end of the bulb, and pop out the seed.
